Crystal Pendulum, Twelve-Facet

A twelve-sided stone point, wrapped by hand in silver-tone wire and hung from a fine chain — the shape of a pendulum. Hold the end of the chain still, let the point settle, and watch.

What makes a pendulum move is well understood. The swing comes from your own hand: small, unconscious muscle movements known as the ideomotor effect. We think that is the interesting part rather than a disappointing one. A pendulum is a way of making visible a lean you had not quite admitted to yourself. Ask it a question and notice what you were hoping it would say.

Five stones, the same cut and the same wrap:

Rose quartz — soft, milky pink, translucent at the tip.
Obsidian — volcanic glass, polished to a deep black shine.
Tiger's eye — honey-gold, with a band of light that slides across the facets as the point turns.
Moss agate — translucent chalcedony with dark green inclusions that grow through it like moss. They are mineral, not plant.
Fluorite — banded in purple, blue and green. Softer than quartz, so keep it away from harder stones in a bag or drawer.

Each point is cut from natural stone, so colour and pattern vary from piece to piece. Photos show representative pieces; yours will differ.
