Silver Sheen Obsidian Angel — 81 mm

Obsidian is not a mineral. It is a glass — lava cooled so fast that nothing had time to crystallise. The silver sheen comes from that same speed: microscopic gas bubbles, stretched and aligned by the flow before it froze, now reflect light back as a single soft band.

Carved as a standing angel — head bowed, wings raised behind the shoulders, robes falling to the base. Because the sheen sits in one plane, it behaves like a light source moving over the figure: bright across the wings at one angle, gone at the next. A photograph can only catch one of those angles.
