Tiger's Eye Bracelet, Multicolour — 14 mm

Tiger's eye is quartz that has replaced crocidolite fibre by fibre, keeping the fibre direction intact. That preserved structure is why the surface moves: turn a bead and a band of light travels across it, always at right angles to the grain. The effect has a name — chatoyancy, from chat, cat.

This strand runs gold through blue, red and near-black. Multicolour tiger's eye is colour-enhanced; naturally multicoloured strands essentially do not exist at this size, and we would rather tell you than let you assume.
