Rainbow Moonstone Bracelet — 7 mm

The same material as our 11 mm strand, cut small. At 7 mm the blue does not belong to any single bead — it travels across the strand as a sheet, lighting whichever row happens to face the window.

The effect is structural rather than pigmentary: feldspar that separated into microscopically thin alternating layers as it cooled, spaced closely enough to scatter blue light back toward the viewer. The trade calls it adularescence, and it is the whole reason to own moonstone rather than any other white stone.
