Red Tiger's Eye Sphere — 21 mm

A small sphere — 21 mm, about the size of a large marble, and light enough to sit on a shelf edge or travel in a coat pocket.

Said plainly: red tiger's eye is gold tiger's eye that has been heated. The iron in the stone oxidises and the colour moves from honey to a deep red-brown. It is a long-standing and entirely ordinary treatment in this material, and worth stating rather than leaving you to assume.

Ground round, the fibre structure meets the surface at every angle, so instead of one band sliding along an axis the light shifts continuously as you roll it.
